Complete machining of turbine blades

The production of turbine blades can be done in a MILLTURN by WFL with little effort and with the highest precision.

The process of manufacturing a turbine blade is as follows:

• The raw part is clamped to both main spindle and counter spindle.
• Perfectly tuned synchronous operation means there are no speed and acceleration restrictions.
• Machining from roughing to deburring takes place with a total of 14 tools, which are loaded independently and fully automatically.
• The active synchronous operation of the spindles and the specially programmed software make it possible to produce a precise, high-quality workpiece.

The 5-axis operation of a MILLTURN enables the production of a turbine blade in just one set-up, saving time. Particularly noteworthy are the constant cutting forces as well as the extremely fast and precise production by synchronous spindle operation, which can be achieved here.
