It's that time of year again: From September 22 to 26, visitors to EMO Hanover will once again have the opportunity to learn about the latest trends at WFL in person on over 500 m² of exhibition space. In addition to the product presentation of the newly developed M70 MILLTURN, visitors will get their first look at the automation solution with storage tower on the proven M20 MILLTURN. Live machining of workpieces will take place on the two MILLLTURNs on display in the exhibition area. In addition, exciting discussions on the groundbreaking trends and developments in the industry await visitors at the WFL booth in Hall 13, Booth A50.

The M70 MILLTURN is a true high-performance center that complements the WFL machine portfolio. It is ideal for anyone who demands the highest standards of productivity and precision. The M70 MILLTURN impresses with a well-thought-out workspace concept for machining lengths of up to 8000 mm and a swing diameter of up to 850 mm. Thanks to the well-known extensive WFL modular system, it offers an enormous variety of options and can be tailored to individual customer requirements.

In addition, the new M70 MILLTURN offers optimum stability and geometry for maximum precision, reliable machining thanks to high pull-in forces at the tool interface, and a wide range of additional options for highly productive deep-hole drilling processes and special technologies. With workpiece weights of up to 5,000 kg, the MILLTURN is ideal for heavy-duty applications.

The M70 MILLTURN features the familiar, reliable disc or chain magazine with up to 200 tool positions, a tool weight of up to 35 kg, and a maximum tool length of 900 mm. In addition to automatic tool change, setup can also be carried out during machining. This allows the magazine to be loaded across orders without any loss of time.

Two magazine variants are also available for heavy special tools weighing up to 200 kg per tool. Another feature is the extremely reliable main and milling spindle drives. The M70 MILLTURN is a MILLTURN that offers maximum precision and advantageous versatility for customer requirements.

Storage tower: The smart solution when space is limited

Clean and structured production environments not only convey a modern image, but also create a working environment that promotes motivation and efficiency. This insight has become widely accepted throughout the industry. However, its consistent implementation remains a challenge. With the WFL storage tower, a major step in this direction can be taken in one area of production.

On the one hand, raw materials and finished parts disappear from valuable production space, and on the other hand, in combination with WFL automation, sufficient storage capacity can be provided for long unmanned production phases.

The vertically aligned storage system enables optimal use of space. Thanks to its modular design, the system can be flexibly adapted to different requirements. It can be retrofitted from the base height of 2.9 m to a height of up to 5.9 m and offers individual equipment options.

Depending on customer requirements, the system can not only have software interfaces but is also increasingly being combined with AGV connections.

See for yourself at the EMO in Hanover, where our newly developed storage tower automatically loads and unloads an M20 MILLTURN.

The M20 MILLTURN appeals to users who need a compact, powerful turning, drilling, and milling center. With an extension of two additional tip width variants, 2000 mm and 3000 mm, the M20 MILLTURN is also available for longer shaft parts. The advantages lie in the high stability and precision of the machine as well as in its particularly powerful drives.

At the trade fair in Hanover, visitors can experience live machining of a technologically demanding chuck part from the aviation industry. The workpiece has a length of 150 mm and a diameter of 300 mm.

Digitalization

At EMO, WFL will showcase the latest versions of its CrashGuard, CrashGuard Studio, Millturn PRO, and ScrewCAM software products. These products are continuously and sustainably developed based on user feedback.

For complex and large workpieces, the available 3D geometry memory in the CrashGuard online collision avoidance system has now been expanded to up to 660,000 triangles. A new GUI framework in CrashGuard Studio offers improvements when working with high-resolution 4K monitors. With the help of the new window manager, the user interface can now also be distributed across multiple monitors.

Millturn PRO now offers new functions for the grinding cycle package for the first time. The lower single tool carrier with the B2 axis in the M20 is also fully supported.

ScrewCAM is the WFL software for modeling and generating NC programs for complex plasticizing screws and can also be demonstrated at EMO.

Since their introduction 15 years ago, CrashGuard Studio and Millturn PRO have gained a broad user base. WFL has now provided over 500 virtual machine models for end users worldwide. There they are used as digital twins for programming and simulating real machines.

The myWFL product family has also been expanded. The common basis of these products is local data acquisition and storage on the machine control system and processing of this data for the various data consumers. myWFL Cockpit is an operating data acquisition system with a display of machine and program statuses over time. The focus is on machine statuses, program runs, machine productivity, and technical availability. Visualization takes place either directly on the control system or via a web interface in the customer's network on the workstation computer or on mobile devices. With myWFL Energy, users can easily analyze and optimize energy consumption for workpiece production.
